Welcome to Remedial Massage
Tisha is one of the most established practitioners in Scotland having clinics in Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy for more than 20 years. Formerly working from Carnegie Leisure Centre in Dunfermline, she now operates out of the cosy Callanetics Studio just next to the Alhambra Theatre.
What is Massage?
Remedial Massage is the manipulation of the soft tissue of the body such as muscles, ligaments and tendons. Various massage movements are used to promote circulation, increase blood supply and break down fibrous areas which may have formed in muscle, thereby alleviating pain and discomfort and promoting the body's ability to heal.
General massage is also available, which gently eases away tension, stress and muscular aches and pains. It is one of the oldest medicines known to man and one of the most effective.
History of Massage
Massage is without doubt the oldest form of medicine known to man. It is an instinctive medicine. Long before records began it was thought that the Romans and the Greeks practised forms of massage. 3000 years before the birth of Christ the Chinese were employing massage therapies.
Today, massage is a craft. Long and thorough study make the practitioners fingers as delicate as a surgeon's scalpel.
